EVERITA Capital Invests in CLINTRIAL to Support the Growth of Clinical Trials in the Czech Republic

EVERITA Capital, a private equity fund focused on growth investments in small and medium-sized businesses across Central Europe, has acquired, together with co-investors, a majority stake in CLINTRIAL s.r.o., an established Prague-based provider of clinical trial services. CLINTRIAL was founded by Dr. Zdeněk Šolle and his wife Barbora, who will remain as shareholders in the company. The financial terms of the transaction were notdisclosed.

Over more than two decades, CLINTRIAL has grown into arespected clinical research centre. During this time, the company hasparticipated in more than 100 Phase II and III clinical trials of global pharmaceutical companies and enrolled more than 1,000 patients. CLINTRIAL employs more than 30 professionals and works with a network of specialist physicians across the Czech Republic. Its core therapeutic areas currently include psychiatry, dermatology, neurology and rheumatology. In 2025, the company generated revenueof more than CZK 60 million.

“CLINTRIAL was built with the ambition of giving patients access to innovative treatments while providing pharmaceutical companies with reliable, high-quality research outcomes. EVERITA team shares our commitment to quality and brings the resources and experience needed to support the company’s next stage of development. I am pleased that CLINTRIAL isentering a new phase of growth and that we will continue to be part of its future,” said Dr. Zdeněk Šolle, founder of CLINTRIAL..

The management of CLINTRIAL will be strengthened by Tomáš Březina, who has more than 25 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. During his career,he has held a number of commercial and marketing positions in the Central and Eastern European region. For the past eight years, he led the Czech branch of a multinational biotechnology company and was an active member of the board ofthe Association of Innovative Pharmaceutical Industry (AIFP).

“We want to build on the strong platform CLINTRIAL has established over the past two decades while responding to the pharmaceutical industry’s growing demands for speed, high-quality data and efficient patient recruitment in an increasingly complex research and development environment. For patients, this ultimately means faster access to therapies that are not yet available,” said Tomáš Březina.

The Czech Republic has a long-standing tradition inclinical research, with the number of clinical trials per capita exceeding the European Union average. More than 500 clinical trials are currently underway in the country, involving approximately 17,400 patients. Clinical research also represents a significant source of investment by pharmaceutical companies inthe Czech healthcare and research ecosystem. The industry invests approximately CZK 3 billion in clinical trials in the Czech Republic each year, while the trials also generate additional savings of more than CZK 2 billion for the healthcare system.

The importance of clinical research is also increasing at both national and European policy levels. This year, the Czech Ministry of Health introduced the country’s first National Clinical Trials Strategy, while the European Union has made support for clinical research one of the prioritiesof its life sciences strategy.

“We see significant potential to further grow CLINTRIAL by expanding its capacity, broadening its therapeutic areas and developing partnerships with additional physicians and healthcare institutions. Clinical research is also a field with a clear positive social impact, which isfully aligned with our investment approach,” said Emília Mamajová, Partner and Co-founder of EVERITA Capital.

FMA Partners acted as an advisor on the transaction.
